When we design a smart home in Mallorca, the displays of a commercial area or the lighting of an outdoor space, LEDs are very present in different formats. Today we explain how it varies in the case of screens.
Types of LED screens, how many are there?
First of all, let’s explain what an LED is:
- It is an electronic device whose operation is based on light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
- Its name comes from the English “light-emitting diode”.
In the previous post we talked about MicroLED outdoor TVs, whose characteristics make them the ideal choice for outdoor areas. But there are a lot of different screens depending on their format and their particularities.
According to their format
There are 3 types of screens:
- Tablets: their size is small and their main use is to inform about products. They are placed in elevated areas such as shelves where they can be seen easily and up close.
- Large format screens: these are the ones used in shop windows, rest areas, etc. They are used to capture the public’s attention.
- Interactive screens: they are tactile, so we can interact with them and their messages. They are usually used for advertising purposes.
What are the most commonly used types of screens?
- Indoor: these are the ones we have at home or in public and commercial spaces for advertising, events and entertainment. Their brightness and sharpness make them perfect for these uses.
- Outdoor: although their main use is for advertising, events and signage, outdoor screens.
- Curved: they are common in museums and shops because of their visual impact. Their most common use is for creative and artistic applications.
- Video wall: this type of screen is used to create video walls. What we get is a large, uniform image.
- Transparent: their particularity is that they can be seen from both sides. They are used both indoors and outdoors.
In order to choose the type of LED screen that best suits our needs, it is important to know its characteristics. What size is suitable for my space? Will the image be seen correctly where I want to place the screen? Can I place it outside?
