Because Sonos means being able to enjoy sound that is completely in tune with your surroundings thanks to Trueplay™ technology.
Trueplay™ technology in Sonos equipment
Trueplay™ is a software feature that allows us, if we have a Sonos speaker, to tune it specifically to the room it’s in. Many factors influence the way a speaker in a particular room sounds. With Trueplay™ technology, it recognises those factors and calibrates accordingly to sound its best based on those factors.
With Sonos Trueplay you can place your speaker anywhere you want. Even inside a cabinet. This software analyses all the acoustic factors that affect the sound quality of the speaker (room size, design, decor, speaker placement…). With Trueplay, each tweeter and woofer is adapted to the circumstances so that the speaker sounds its best no matter where it is. For Trueplay to bring out the best in your Sonos speaker, it goes through a tuning process that takes just three minutes. However, the Move and Roam models tune automatically. They do so via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi using the Sonos app. A series of test sounds with three properties can then be played: brown noise, pulse sounds that allow echoes and a sweep of frequencies. In the case of the Move model, the sound field is wider and the bass is more powerful. And thanks to its IP56 protection rating, it can even get wet. Sonos Trueplay is available for all Sonos speakers including Sonos One, Sonos One SL, Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, Play:5 (2015), Sonos Five, Playbar, Playbase, Beam and Arc.
In short, with Sonos equipment we can enjoy clear, spacious and fully balanced sound. We can connect all our music services (Spotify, Google Play Music, Soundcloud, Deezer, etc). These devices also give you the possibility of listening to music on Sonos directly from your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
