Did you know that you can also sound the outside of your home or business? With garden speakers, everything is possible.
The first thing you need to do is contact our home automation company in Mallorca, Digital Cinema, to design and shape the sound project. The second thing is to sit in the garden and enjoy it.
Garden speakers, how to integrate them?
At Digital Cinema we only work with the best brands, because quality is our main objective. For this reason we install Bose and Sonance speakers that guarantee optimal audio conditions.
For the famous Mallorcan mansion in Alaró, the founder of Puro Beach, Puro Hotel and Spirit of the Nomad, commissioned us with a very special sound project.
This sound plan, with a total of 15 audio zones distributed indoors and outdoors, was developed as follows:
- Analogue control in each zone for use by guests
- Digital control for the property: sound source, switch on/off and on/off
- Indoor courtyard with more than 2000W of power
- More than 1500 square metres of exteriors (gardens, terraces and swimming pool)
- Sound system hidden among the vegetation
- Suspended loudspeakers, with rustic aesthetics, in the area of the Majorcan tafona
- Integration of built-in speakers and subwoofers in the spa, gym, kitchen, lounge areas…
- Cinema room with Dolby Atmos technology
How do these speakers work?
Going back to outdoor areas, many questions can arise: is it OK if the speakers get wet, and how do we know if the power is going to be enough to be heard?
The first thing we do when designing an audio project is to analyse the space. It is very important to understand how sound propagates outdoors when we install a loudspeaker in that space.
In garden and terrace areas, there are not always walls or ceilings that contain or reflect vibrations. In addition, we must take into account the ambient sounds that are now replacing the indoor sounds.
There are 3 basic concepts to keep in mind at all times:
- Concealment: outdoor loudspeakers usually have an unobtrusive appearance. This allows them to be easily hidden among vegetation. They can even be accompanied by a fully or partially buried subwoofer.
- Weather resistance: it is essential to choose robust models that are weatherproof. The sensitive components of garden speakers are usually coated with a special coating. This allows them to withstand prolonged exposure to moisture without any loss of sound quality. In the case of extreme temperatures, there are enclosures that work under all kinds of environmental conditions: they resist UV radiation, can emit sound in heavy rain and incorporate aluminium grilles and stainless materials.
- Technical characteristics: loudspeakers should have a frequency response curve that is as wide and linear as possible. They must be able to withstand high power levels, as the usual physical limits are not available outdoors. This lack of “room” must be compensated with more power to obtain the same sound pressure level.
Thanks to the garden speakers, and outdoors in general, it is possible to enjoy excellent audio quality throughout your home or business.
